A delegation from the Department of IT & Telecom (DITT) under the Ministry of Information & Communications, the Royal Government of Bhutan visited Eastern Europe on 4-8 April 2016. The visit was part of the ongoing project called “Establishment of National Incident Response Team in Bhutan (BtCIRT)”.

The purpose of the visit was to meet national and sectorial CSIRT teams from Europe in order to understand governance and operational aspects of CSIRT, build capability of BtCIRT members in dealing with CSIRT processes, services, organizational and technical issues, and to establish contacts with CSIRT/CERT communities worldwide.

During the week-long official visit, the delegation visited national CERTS of Lithuania and Latvia (CERT-LT and CERT-LV), academic CERT in Lithuania (LITNET CERT), and several commercial CSIRTs.

Besides visiting CSIRTs/CERTs, the delegation also got opportunities to understand other technical aspects of ICT on e-governance, secure and sustainable country digitization, critical infrastructure protection, law enforcement, and security information and event management tools.

The visit was facilitated by the international consultant’s team from NRD CS, Norway Registers Development AS and BAIP, the companies currently assisting DITT with implementation of BtCIRT.
