At the end of April NRD Companies have successfully finished the adjustment of the Civil Registration Vital Statistics (CRVS) system in Zanzibar.

The objectives of the project include fine tuning the developed CRVS (registry) system, its initialization, and one year post-implementation support. During the 14 month long project NRD adjusted its previously developed Civil Registration Vital Statistics (CRVS) Register to the revised legal framework and created e-Archive subsystem and digitized paper documents. In addition, system users were trained to work with the processes of birth, death, adoption, marriage and divorce registration. 

On April 25, 2016, with the assistance of fully functioning Civil Registration Vital Statistics (CRVS) Register, the Birth and Death Registrar’s Office (BDRO) issued and printed the first Birth Certificate in Zanzibar.
