The State Enterprise Center of Registers (National Certificate Center, CA)

Challenge

The main goal of the project was to set up of a fully secure and reliable Certification Authority (CA) at the State Enterprise Center of Registers. The State Enterprise Center of Registers acts as the national Certification Center in Lithuania. Organization provides services for other CA and for the end customers in Lithuania and the European Union.

Solution

During the project, a Certificate Authority and a reliable PKI infrastructure were designed and implemented. Certification Authority (CA) acts as the backbone of the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). A framework and a portal for securing electronic transactions by ensuring strong authentication, non-repudiation, integrity and confidentiality of data were created.

The Trusted Service Provider is a part of the national Wireless PKI infrastructure, dedicated to provide PKI services for other Service Providers, such as banks, state and commercial institutions. The Trusted Service Provider solution supports authorization, authentication, electronic document formation.

Services provided

ETRONIKA created, developed and supported the Trusted Service Provider part of the Mobile PKI (wireless PKI) infrastructure, dedicated to provide services for other Service Providers, such as banks, state and commercial institutions. The Trusted Service Provider solution supports authorization, authentication, electronic document formation (including mobile signature – wireless PKI) actions.

Impact

The solution was constantly developed, operated and supported By ETRONIKA until December 2013. Since 2013, the Certificate Authority operates as a fully sustainable organization and Trusted Service provider, including continuing development of the system, support, all internal operations, services for other organizations and citizens of Lithuania and European Union.
