The government in collaboration with global cyber security and technology giants is going to organise an international cyber security conference in the capital on March 9 aiming to take a coordinated initiative to check the alarming rise of cyber attacks causing disruption in online activities and financial loss, officials said.
They said Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) of ICT Division, US based Fire Eye, CISCO, CA Technologies and Microsoft and Norway based NRD CS will jointly organise the conference in the auditorium of Bangladesh Computer Council.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak will inaugurate the conference, to be attended by diplomats, foreign cyber security experts and government officials. The conference is being held to mark the one year completion of BDG CIRT (Bangladesh Government Cyber Incident Response Team) set up to mitigate a computer related incidents like malware, virus infection and other cyber related threats.
