Sollo, a licensed electronic payments operator in Lithuania, has successfully launched a centralized payments authorization platform designed to simplify the collection of electronic payments for utility and other services across the country. The newly implemented platform improves access to electronic payments, particularly for small and regional providers that do not operate their own payment collection systems.
The solution was developed in partnership with NRD Companies, which was responsible for the custom design and development of the platform. Following implementation, testing, and partner onboarding, the system has now been fully deployed, with all services successfully migrated to the new authorization center. NRD Companies will continue to provide ongoing system support and further development.
A Nationwide Payments Channel Through Retail POS
At the core of the solution is a payment collection model that enables customers to pay for services at retail point-of-sale (POS) terminals, including both staffed and self-service checkouts.
The Sollo payments channel operates in major retail chains, ensuring nationwide availability, including regional areas. Through this channel, customers can pay for multiple services in a single transaction, creating a simplified “one-invoice”–style experience without requiring separate provider systems or applications.
The platform is designed to support more than 700 utility and service providers with different levels of digital maturity. Digitally advanced providers connect through direct integrations, while others receive automatically generated payment and reconciliation files tailored to their reporting requirements. Payments collected through POS systems are consolidated and processed through a unified settlement flow.
Secure and Scalable Financial Infrastructure
Built using modern cloud-native technologies and hosted on Google Cloud, the system ensures high availability and scalability under large transaction volumes. The platform meets bank-level security requirements. The company operates under licensing from the Bank of Lithuania, reflecting its role in electronic payment collection and financial data processing.
“By enabling service payments through widely accessible retail networks, this platform helps extend digital payment infrastructure to providers and communities that may otherwise lack it,” said Mindaugas Glodas, CEO of NRD Companies. “For NRD Companies, the project reflects our experience in building secure, scalable financial infrastructure that integrates multiple service ecosystems while meeting strict regulatory requirements.”
The new authorization center addresses a broader need for accessible payment infrastructure in the utilities and services sector, where many smaller providers lack the technical capacity to maintain their own digital payment channels.
“This solution allows us to respond quickly to the needs of both service providers and customers,” said Sollo representatives. “The ability to manage and expand services flexibly ensures that our payment ecosystem can continue to grow alongside our partner network.”
