Norway Registers Development AS (NRD), a part of BAIP group, has invested in the East Africa and acquired 70 per cent shares of Tanzanian company 360° Smart Consulting Ltd. The contract on acquiring the shares was signed in Dar es Salaam on the 4th of April, 2013.
The main purpose of the investment is to be closer to the clients of the East African region, where NRD has been actively engaged in the register reforms for the past 15 years and has recently started activities in the cyber security area. Together with NRD Cyber Security Center team, 360° Smart Consulting will provide on-site delivery of the NRD services to its clients and partners. It will help NRD East Africa partner SimbaNET to ensure the success and fluency of NRD Cyber Security operations in the region, and assist organizations in the adoption of the Cyber Defence Plan.
By investing in the 360° Smart Consulting we are also starting to collaborate with a strong team of certified professionals. They have deep IT industry knowledge, consulting, cyber security, and information system audit proficiency as well as experience in working with international organisations and corporations. Together we will advance our digital forensics, incident response, cyber security, and intelligence services in the East Africa. We will also collectively help our clients there to adopt the technologies that ensure business continuity and cyber defence. In addition, this investment will also help to further other NRD AS services such as business environment improvement reforms in the region’, said NRD AS Chairman of the Board Kazimieras Tonkūnas.
